I am So Grateful to be a Part of the Plaisance Educators Collective
by Robyn Hedden, Plaisance Education Group Public Relations Specialist
After experiencing the food insecurity that was personally created by the school I teach at, a colleague mentioned that the staff wanted to start developing a school culture that recognized what was important and cultivated care.
I was immediately grateful for my colleagues who made it possible.
My colleagues joined the Plaisance Education Group (PEG) to create and foster a supportive, caring work environment within the Plaisance School District.
The PARENT Group consisted of parents, guardians, caregivers, and members of the community.
The STEM Club provided a place for students to make friends and learn new skills.
The Education Foundation fostered connections within the Plaisance District, while addressing the needs of students with access to qualified staff, equipment, and extracurricular activities.
Supported by the excellent team who work in the Plaisance School District, I had a clear view of what people could accomplish if they worked together. After all, the philosophy behind our teacher collective was simple. We didn’t just want to educate. We wanted to create an environment that fostered love, respect, respect for life, caring, and kindness.
The team we support each day goes above and beyond to create this intentional environment.
I am so grateful to be a part of the Plaisance Educators Collective and am so proud of all we have created together.
