#SocialLeader: Instagram Adds Online Education Tools
Instagram just took another big step toward making the world more beautiful: online educational resources are now tagged in posts.
The social network launched teacher toolkits this week with teaching tools from a number of companies.
One kit, from Yideod Edutech, lets teachers track students’ work, grade projects and review behavior.
Another, a tutorial from Launchpad, shows teachers how to create rules for student behavior and punishment.
Tablo CEO David Shin presented the tools and their motives at the National Retail Federation’s Big Show in New York City on Thursday.

Teachers are “a huge part of education and the future of education,” Shin told CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.” Social networks “could be really great in the classroom.”
And they are.
According to Shin, teachers with new tools “can do better teaching and better learning than we [as teachers] have ever done before.”
One example? “New research has shown that if we make a student who does not make much progress appear to be doing well on tests, it has a major effect on their growth the following year.”
